PROJECT GUIDE
Prepare a useful brief without being a technician.
A good brief supports the right decisions. It does not need to be long or name technologies.
Describe your business and next goal
Start with what you sell, who you serve and your markets or languages. Explain what visitors should do: contact you, request a quote, book, read about a service or buy. If you have a website, explain what is not working for you.
Gather existing material
Branding, copy, photographs, services, prices and work examples are useful. Also tell us what is missing. A few visual references help when you explain whether you like their atmosphere, readability or offer structure.
- Your activity and primary customer.
- The website’s main business goal.
- Your current URL and features to retain.
- Available and missing content.
- Budget, desired date and important constraints.
Share sensitive access at the appropriate stage
The initial enquiry scopes the project. Do not paste passwords, payment keys or customer files into it. Necessary access will be shared through suitable mechanisms when scope and responsibilities have been defined.
